Well, for my first post I think I will give you a little appetizer of what I listen to and what's on my iPod. Just a little itsy-bitsy bite of my choice and what my future blogs shall include.
So taste this bitches:
So, I'm just going to put my iPod on shuffle and talk about each song:
Plastic Surgery Hall of Fame [Schoolyard Heroes]- One word: FUCKING AMAZING. Well, two but who cares. This song sounds amazing with the dual vocals of their female lead singer, Ryann Donnelly, and their crazy bassist Jonah Bergman. The lyrics of this song are just as good as the instruments and the vocals. Lines that boldly describe the horrors of plastic surgery in a catchy way, 'You're so pretty and you're so dead'. I Saw this fantastic group live and was blown away with the insane live preformance and all of their energy. But, Donnelly scared the shit out of me. She looked like she was in pain and then would start randomly laughing. If she wasn't faking, then I think she needs to check in to the closest insane asylum. Haha.
World War Me [From First to Last]- Nearly spat out the banana I was munching on [thanks Gwen, I now know how to spell banana with a catchy tune]. This song is great. I love the hardcore edge that FFTL puts on their songs. && You can really tell that Sonny Moore wasn't fit for the job. Although Sonny sounds good in this song, you can just tell that he was meant for the solo work he is doing now. Anyways, this song is great and I love it. && The end is kickfuckingass.
Duality [Bayside]- Great song for a band that has been through so much. When I first heard this song, I was blown away about how Bayside really brought together their act. I wasn't expecting such a great album after the emotional rollar coaster this band has endured. I must say though, the lyrics hint slightly that they still haven't let go of their beloved John 'Beatz' and I don't blame them. Great song..not the best though.
Give 'Em Hell, Kid-Live version [My Chemical Romance]- You knew this band was going to show up. Admit it! I can finally say that I have seen MCR live and been in the pit, four feet from the very amazing and sexy Ray Toro [did you think I would say Gerard? Well, yea..him too haha]. It took me a minute to realize that this song was live; they are that amazing live. The band's sound has only improved since the release of Life on a Murderscene and so has thier live shows.
All That I've Got [The Used]-I must say, The Used is an amazing band. I'm actually rocking one of their band shirts as I sit and waste my life away typing this shit up. I love, love, love this song! Bert McCracken's vocals shine like no other in this song. You can't even tell that he is a total druggie. The lyrics are sweet and really great. 'I'll be just fine pretending I'm not' is a line that has so much truth to every person. The instruments in the background are great; a mix of hardcore and...softcore type sounding stuff. I don't think that made any sense, whatever. I must say, this is one of my favourite songs off their album In Love and Death
I Set My Friends on Fire [Aiden]- Okay, seriously: this song is amazing. I love the screaming and the vocals at the begining and the guitar. I also recently saw Aiden live and they never cease to amaze me [besides their latest album haha]. This was my second time seeing them and they always play this song; they do the Wall of Death to this song and it always is accompanied by an insane mosh pit. The soft part near the end of the song is great. The whispering with wiL Francis's great vocals really puts the icing on the cake. All around, great, hardcore song.
Lips Like Morphine [Kill Hannah]- Meh. This song is okay. But the lyrics. Holy. Shit. So sexy; and sung by an equally sexy boy, haha. The instruments and vocals, though, are lacking some energy. Pretty much, the song doesn't really go there. It doesn't have that...how to put it...certian punch that all great songs have. The real focus on this song for me is the lyrics; I'm a sucker for a hot boy moaning 'I want a girl with lips like morphine'. Although, I thought [and still am convinced] that Mat Devine was gay....
Makeout Kids [Motion City Soundtrack]- LOVE THIS SONG! The keyboards are great. The vocals: flawless. The rawness and the sad truth of the lyrics is genius! If I ever need a nice, light song to clean up my room to, this is it. It has such a great beat, so I end up dancing around my room and singing [horribly] the lyrics.
Bound and Gagged [Creature Feature]- Wretgyhujikol. I love Creature Feature and this has got to be one of my favourite songs by them. Lyrics: scary, sexy, amazing. I love the creepy lyrics and how lead singer Curtis X sings them so seductivly. This song is genius and some Hollywood star needs to discover it and make a movie off of it. Hell, they need to make a movie off every single Creature Feature song. This one really tells a story- a really scary and sadistic story- but a story nonetheless. I don't know if I should be freaked out of my mind if I ever meet this band or bow down in the presence of pure genius.
